BEN BUCHHOLZ
Lobbyist
A veteran of the Olympia legislative scene, Ben has been building and executing creative solutions for clients in both the public and private sector. Ben has direct experience working with the Office of the Governor, the Secretary of State, all members of the Washington State House and Senate, public agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, Labor & Industries, Employment Security Department, Department of Ecology, Department of Health and the Department of Revenue.
Ben has over sixteen years of experience lobbying on agriculture, energy, labor and transportation issues. Ben has worked on several successful statewide campaigns and handled dozens of grassroots and outreach campaigns. Grassroots issues include hazardous substance taxes, low carbon fuel standard, carbon taxes, grain terminal port shutdown and GMO labeling.
In late 2005, he founded Buchholz and Associates LLC, to advocate for clients on legislative and regulatory matters in Washington state.
Ben and his wife Teresa have a daughter named Caroline. The family loves spending time boating on Lake Washington and taking care of their goats and chickens. Ben is a terrible golfer.

MARIA SANFORD
Administrative Assistant
Maria is an experienced administrative assistant and event planner. She grew up in Skagit and Whatcom Counties and lives in Sumas. Maria was actively involved in FFA and athletics growing up. She worked on the family's hobby farm feeding animals and loading bales of hay into the barn. Maria spent eight years as administrative assistant at Nooksack Middle School where she was also the ASB Leadership Advisor and track coach. During her free time, Maria enjoys baking and working in her flower garden. Maria loves all things outdoors- camping, hiking, boating and road tripping all around the United States with her husband Derrik in their heavily modified Jeep Rubicon.
Maria holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Administration.
SPRINGER CHANDLER
Legislative Coordinator
Springer Chandler has twenty years of experience providing administrative services to several lobbying firms and associations. Springer manages calendars, including securing appointments with legislators, agency staff and others. Successfully arranges meetings for constituents, lobbyists and legislators. Plans and execute small to large membership events for lobbying firms' clients; including securing meeting space, setting menus, handling attendee registrations and other meeting requirements. Develops relationships with targeted legislators, staff and agency staff.
Springer's favorite career memory was working as an intern for APCO & Associates when we lead a series of events for Nelson Mandela and I had the pleasure of meeting him and spending time with him throughout the planned events.
When Springer isn't working she enjoys spending time with her husband Nels and teenage son Jack. Springer loves going on long trail walks with their 2 year old chocolate lab; Fern, decorating her home, working in the yard, traveling and watching sporting events.
Springer has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a minor in Business from Washington State University. GO COUGS!
